Theme:
Redesigning Reality

The theme of QUCL 2026 is "Redesigning Reality." Literary texts have the power to break the mold, shaping new ideas, challenging norms, and inspiring transformative change. They compel us to rethink traditions, redefine genres, and reimagine possibilities not only within literature but across society and culture. Throughout history, books have been banned and censored precisely because of their power to disrupt and reshape the status quo. This year's keynote and undergraduate speakers will explore the origins of this transformative power and how it continues to manifest, encouraging us all to imagine new futures beyond conventional boundaries.

The articles linked below helped inspire our conference theme. They emphasize the varying ways literature breaks boundaries.
